Barnali is the Director of the NRITYANTI, an institute of Odissi dance which imparts training in Odissi, organizes workshops on Indian dance, demonstration talks on dance-lore; visits to museums and temples to acquaint with dance in Indian art and conducts research on the canons of dance. The institution has performed already at the Chinsurah Cultural Festival (1999), Viswa Banga Sammelan (2001), Nrityanti annual festivals(2002, 04, 05), Mahalaya festival at the Indian Museum (2001-2003) and Banga Samskriti Utsav (2005).
